Singer sewing machine in bentwood case

My neighbor gave this to me yesterday. I looked up a bit about it. Its a 1949 singer sewing machine in a bentwood case. Need to clean it up some for the dust. He said it works haven't really tested it yet. I thought it was a beautiful gift. It reminds me of my Edison's case. But slightly bigger. I don't know much about it, other than what i looked up.
