Before the use of the letter U the shave V was used as the vowel U and the consonant V. It wasn't until printing standardized letter shapes in the 1600's that the letter U became regularly used. Does this mean your item is very old? I can't say for sure but it may be interesting to know.
That's not a V, it's an O.
They just took a bit of artistic license in the way the formed the letter.
Compare the company name to Los Angeles, which is embossed just below the company name: see how they formed the "o"in Los?
A quick online search using the correct spelling turned up information dating the company to 1930s to 1950s.
I was guessing PL*U*MB TOOLS (instead of PL*O*MB) but Watchsearcher actually looked...still a matter of "font" as much as anything, and a font that fairly screams 1930's-50's too... ;-) :-)
Is there anything on the other side of the wrenches??
Hello, I just posted a photo showing the back of the tools. I think @watchsearcher is correct as my husband cleaned up the box for me and indoing so I see that it does look to be an “O”. I will investigate further now, thank You so much!!

It's PLOMB for sure, they made wrenches. Not to be confused with PLUMB, they made axes and hammers.
