Wedgwood Wednesday: The Cheese And Butter Dishes

I'm sure most of you have seen Wedgwood at flea markets or antique stores. It's a beautiful England jasperware made primarily in the most common blue shown above and green. Always with white jasper decoration. Other colors are rare such as crimson red or yellow. Sometimes the colors are reversed to there the piece is white jasper with colored jasper decoration. These date back all the way to the 1700s, and Wedgwood is still produced to this day, making some pieces like the earlier ones, but in designs that appeal to modern tastes. They are sometimes marked "WEDGWOOD" on the bottom, but usually the early pieces aren't marked at all. Nonetheless, it is easily distinguished.
