This is a necklace purchased online not long ago.
Lenox is known for beautiful table ware and decorative items. Lesser known, I believe, are their jewelry items. I’ve owned a pretty glazed ceramic pendant and a bisque brooch made by them.
I liked the look of this necklace with the leaf designs which the enclosed card says are gold plated. The card refers to the beads as “turquoise colored beads” but doesn’t say what they are made of.
When I couldn’t find info about the necklace online, I researched the VP whose name is on the card. The lady is still VP with the company so the necklace isn’t very old.
I wanted to see other pictures of this necklace to find out if this was the original intended design or if a previous owner, for some reason, removed some beads from both ends. It looks kind of odd having that exposed wire on the necklace.
I’ve only worn it once because where the wire rested on my skin, I broke out in an itchy red rash - not unexpectedly since I’m allergic to some metals such as nickel.
I’m planning to restring the necklace to have beads go all the way around.
If you have one of the Golden Gingko necklaces, please share you experience/opinion regarding that wire.
And I welcome all comments. Thanks for looking.
Lovely necklace, I really like the golden gingko leaves - nice find
I looked around a little and found a couple others, and yes, that is the original design. I, too, find it strange to have exposed wired that would rest on one's neck. Re-stringing is a great idea....
Newfld and Ms.CrystalShip- thank you both for commenting! I appreciate your time spent looking for other examples of this necklace.
It will get a makeover soon!
