This is such a unique and funny little brooch- except it looks more like some kind of smaller garden bird to me? But I have to say I like the idea of a chicken with a sombrero is so perfectly Mexican and charming to me- it's like some side character that would appear in those two films 'Book of Life' and 'Coco'!

Lol Lauren, it could be a cute smaller bird like a sparrow at that - except the designer Hobe used to favor chickens in various poses and the seller did call it the Mexican chicken :) It is a funny little piece, that's why I wanted to post it, a little humor & to me it's sorta dressed like Clint Eastwood in a spaghetti western! Oh yes Eileen, it is very like one of the Three Caballeros especially Donald duck! That was a great period for Disney when he went to South America, and did you know that his Jose the parrot became a famous Brazilian cartoon parrot called Jose 'Ze' Carioca, and there is a wonderful talking toy parrot on a talk show there called Louro Jose who resembles the cartoon bird, my husband brought the toy home for me from Brazil and I just love him - will try to dig him out of packing for a Christmas post, the kids in Brazil just love him!
