Any idea what type? I acquired this hatchet out of my grandfathers toolbox up in the loft of an old barn on the property. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated as I am planning to restore and put a new grip: handle on it. Thanks

      Old shingle hatchet. Pretty common.

Hello, Is that one piece of steel? If so , try looking up monolithic axe ( one piece construction). Estwing made one, but did not have a nail pulling notch. Try looking up Vaughan, they also made a one piece axe, among others. Regards, Lou
