Hello, I have a pocket Watch from approximately 1890's that has a FOB attached to it's chain. I am trying to identify the FOB, but have had no luck. I was wondering if anyone could help me Identify it. Brief description is: Maltese cross alternating red and blue stone/gem/something with crossed spears between the quadrilaterals. Opened winged bird behind cross with crossed battle axes behind bird. On a (corded) outline of a shield with a small crown top center of cording. (would be happy to send a picture or two) Sorry if that is too much information, but am trying to identify it as it has been passed on to me. Thank You for any help or direction provided. Note - not 100% sure watch and FOB are one as there is a newer link of different metal connecting the watch and chain - However I tend to believe they are, as my Dad would easily have repaired that himself.

Is there any type clip to attach the watch fob to clothing?
Watchsearcher, That is the entire chain. There is no clip, I always imagined that it acted as a weight in the opposite pocket of a vest (kids imagination, I guess)
I see what you mean...your dad could have used it as a counterweight but I think that may have been his own invention.
I’m certainly no expert but I have a few watch fobs I have bought over the years and all of them have a means to secure them to clothing but, at the same time, expose the fob for the world to admire.
The fobs could be purely ornamental but many had the owner’s initials or name engraved on them, or the ornament showed some affiliation dear to the owner.
If you know of any organizations your dad belonged to, see if there is any crest or logo affiliated with them.

I'm Thinking it predated my father. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and was a founding member of and Eagles Council, but neither of them have anything I have found that comes close to this. I thought it may be some type of Coat of Arms or Escutcheon, but have no luck with that yet either
It does have the look of a coat of arms.
I’ll keep this in mind whenever I’m browsing watch fobs and other such items.
Not really look of coat of arms, it is more like a Heraldic Shield but in more general terms. If you knew how to rotate your photos it might help, as my neck hurts already!!
Looks like it could be a fraternal emblem, Did your Dad or Grand Dad attend college?
