Not all Sherman sparkles!
Beautiful Sherman, my French Bulldog, sat for his portrait long ago, with Calgary-based international artist Heather Buchanan. And Heather did an amazing job.
Heather is one of Calgary’s best known artists. She has clients in over 40 countries, has painted the official portrait of our last premier, and has worked as an illustrator for the Globe & Mail.
But a few years before, a few years ago, she painted Sherman ... for Christmas.

The painting is gorgeous, but may I say not nearly as adorable or precious as the real Sherman - he's a real sweetheart!

He is a great boy, and loyal, for sure, Eileen. Love him. Heather painted him as he appeared to her, I suppose. Amazing artist. My photo of him is from December. Her painting precedes my photo by 5 years.
Eileen — I’m sure your sweet Betty is a joy for your family, as well. They certainly are important family members. Sherman is the best cuddler.
Sherman having a dental today ... and one molar removed. General anesthetic. He’s still in surgery. Oh no! I feel his discomfort. My poor boy.
