As I’m back in the UK I decided to see what I have over here. Most people who I know on CW know I collect Bernard Instone, this compact is unusual because as you can see the enamelling is certainly Bernard Instone. The compact case itself is made by VAN-JACK Dubarry, apparently it is a early compact. Has you can see in one of the photos it says loose powder box. It is definitely Art Deco with star burst wavy lines style on silver coloured chrome. Of course my attention was drawn to the enamelling totally Bernard Instone, I would love to know the story of how his enamelling got onto to the Dubarry compact. I’m really pleased with this compact because it’s shows how versatile he was.
Many thanks for looking
