I found this two inch silver item in the jewelry that came my way following my parents' passing. My father was not a men's club member so it goes back to at least another generation. There appears to be an elk head with a clock between its antlers. The clock uses Roman Numerals. Is this related to the Elks Club somehow?

On one end, there's a small loop suitable for putting it on a chain or otherwise hanging it. The other end opens up and there's an axis with a hinge which could be used to hold and wrap a small piece of paper.

I also can't seem to read the initials on it. A prayer or charm pendant?

Any info on its provenance? Can anyone help me read the monogram?

With the elk you would think it's most likely to be a man's accessory. Maybe a mustache curler? The initials look like EJ to me.

I would think that it would be related to the Elks Club.

This combination of words produces some similar items in a Google search:
"elk club prayer cylinder necklace silver antique"
The clock and the elks head are definitely Elk Club symbolism. Could this have been a one-off created as an award or gift?
I found for sale on Etsy: "his is a sterling silver elks club case with the works HELLO BILL on the inside. It is marked sterling and was suppose to hold the organization's rules. The elk has glass eyes and there is machine engraving on the front. It probable hung from a chain for from a watch fob. Great condition with no monograms attached. The elks emblem is enameled."

On Etsy, there's lots of Elks Memorabilia. I'm now thinking that this pendant might be a custom made one. It might be from Baltimore (where my family was from): https://www.etsy.com/market/elks_memorabilia
