Sad and scary times they are these days, for so many reasons. Stay well, stay safe, and strive for justice and peace y'all, every day.

Oops... too late. They are not coming for anything...... but to have the same rights as everyone else.... You can quit hiding your wallet..... WOW.... And I do not think they will come after your soul.... Just WOW again.....

And there you go... making assumptions about my politics because I believe everyone should have the same rights......

I told you to quit hiding your wallet..... I would never be as presumptive as to tell you to quit expressing your political views..... I Love free speech.... I rather like it when you guys speak up..... It removes any doubt....

PLEASE FOLKS, don't fuss amongst yourselves over my showing here. I've tried to take pains to *not* include any 'political commentary' here pro or con the BLM movement -- but in my mind the fact remains that we ALL have to deal with it now whether we want to or not (or in fact agree with it or not) and that it is probably WAY OVERDUE that we, as a society, actually did so.

To my mind, the MOST important thing on this sign is the PEACE symbol on its backside. There seems a near zero chance that the whole world could use a huge-ole extra dose of PEACE amongst all ourselves, in these convoluted and unsettled period of our collective history...??

BE WELL, BE SAFE, and BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER (even totally random people?!) to all my CW friends -- if we all do, the world will eventually become a better place for all of us. :-) :-) :-)
    14. AnythingObscure AnythingObscure, 4 years ago
and PS...I don't plan to <delete> any comments so far, nor any future ones, unless things should take a bad turn and I'm forced to...I too wholeheartedly agree in the idea of "free speech" and every human being's right to make theirs known, even if this might not really be the sorta forum to do so. THANK YOU ALL in advance for your future cooperation! :-)
    15. Maryjo Maryjo, 4 years ago
there's no free speech in here if the lefty's don't like what you say they throw you out lol....your better off backing up and run into a brick wall ,this is suppose to be free of politics..but that only apply s to the right ..if you want fair your in the wrong group lol...later
    16. AnythingObscure AnythingObscure, 4 years ago
Hmmm. Suddenly somebody (mods?) recategorized this as 'politics'. For the record that wasn't me, I still contend that the much more important thing about this sign is the PEACE part -- something our general society has needed a whole bunch more of for a long time and especially in our most recent collective history, which is maybe only now bubbling back to the foreground of 'societal attention' for a whole host of assorted reasons, some misguided others not...?

I've also come to the belief recently that "the world" as we all knew it when we celebrated 'New Years 2020' is now nowhere near what it was then, nor will it ever actually return to that 'normal' as it was then...

But with any luck, it will all somehow work itself out to be "better" for ALL of us sometime in our future...?? :-)
    17. welzebub welzebub, 4 years ago
How could they have done that....??? You mean there is a political SECTION in a forum that some claim should not have politics..... WOW..... will miracles never cease??? I wonder if our "lefty condemning friends" know that?? LOL :-)
    18. welzebub welzebub, 4 years ago
My concern with your opinion of me and what I do and say amounts to ZERO. You appear to be a hard right leaning "patriot".

I did not in any way advocate for riots. I simply provided a well known quote from Martin Luther King, which explains why riots like these occur. That is not in any way advocating for them.... but I know..... that might be a tough concept to grasp while wrapped up in your flag. MLK's quote is a simplistic statement, but one that is held to be pretty true by Sociologists.

The quote was provided in an effort to counter what I saw as a "misguided" (I am being nice) statement calling the BLM movement a "terrorist organization" and then contriving a statement that seemed to portray the idea that the BLM movement is about wanting everything others have, and that "they" will stop at nothing to get that.

Your statement about the BLM movement was not in the least accurate, nor does it portray what the BLM movement is about..... Scott suggested reading up on the subject. I am of the opinioin that would be a good idea for you. What your statement does display quite publicly though, is what appears to be a complete lack of understanding of what is occurring in this country right now. Unfortunately, based on the statements you have made in this post, I would not have even the slightest expectation that you understand that, not do I hold out hope for your enlightenment any time in the near future.

If it makes you feel better, you just keep on trying to insult me personally, and I will simply continue to provide an "assault" on your "political stance".

And for what it is worth, I find the point of view you express here to be substantially more troubling for this country in the long run, than the objective of the BLM movement.
    19. scottvez scottvez, 4 years ago
      Well said welzebub!

To be clear, I did not "advocate for riots".

BLM has not "advocated for riots"-- the organization supports non- violent protests and civil disobediance.

    22. welzebub welzebub, 4 years ago
Maryjo - What seems to be your inability to discern the BLM movement, from people that are rioting, speaks quite clearly to your complete lack of understanding, and not to the "mission statement" of the BLM Organization. At this point in time the movement is international, and multi cultural.

It would appear that your take would be that anyone rioting is from the BLM, and that speaks more to your politics (and other views), than your understanding of their objective.

Their motivation in the US is to advocate for equal rights for all citizens of this country, as defined in the Constitution of the United States of America. If you do not believe in that concept, then you would appear to be part of the problem.
    23. welzebub welzebub, 4 years ago
Thanks WesterPA-Collector... You simply keep confirming what I think your views are, but would be removed from the forum if I actually spoke frankly about them.

Your politics seem to be like your patriotism..... Wrapped in a flag, misinformed, and a little too self serving and "whitewashed" for my tastes.

Oh COME ON Y'ALL -- PLEASE quit all the bickering back and forth, which only goes *away* from the whole point of why I showed these pics in the 1st place. I haven't been here 6yrs myself, but as others (who have, I suppose) have pointed out -- one of the MOST SPECIFIC reasons I love this forum so much is because we can all generally get along with each other, just showing off our collections of junk to each other, without having to get into political nonsense. (and not that that's so terribly easy to do even if accidentally these days...)

      PEACE, Y'ALL... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Funny that "free speach mary" who complains of riots and violence would respond to others' free speach with threats of violence:

All I quite obviously have are two things.

One is a much better command of the English language to include spelling and punctuation.

The other appears to be much better judgment and self control than you. And yeah... Like Scott says Maryjo.... You've probably got the biggest one here... ROTFLMFAO.

OK folks, one more plea from me to please ceast and desist from the bickering amongst yourselves about whoever might or might not agree with any aspect of the current BLM movement and anything else sorta related to it. The recent mention of various kinds of firearms here (!!) only alarms me further.

For the record, whether anybody else agrees with me or not (which once more wasn't the point of my showing this sign here in the first place BTW) I happen to not only be wholly disappointed that the whole 'violence/riot' thing inevitably got itself all wrapped up in any given day's 'nightly news footage', while on the other hand also believing that there are a vastly larger majority of folks (/me hoping I'm one of 'em) that are otherwise doing anything possible to, kinda, continue to ultimately support the basic point of the BLM movement -- something as a society we all should have otherwise continued to actually *fix* in the many decades since Gahndi/MLK/etc. got it started.

PEACE, PEACE, and more PEACE to all y'all. :-) :-) :-)

Don't know where to start with your incoherent, mispelled ramblings. Maybe some time in "collage" would have helped you piece together a better argument!

I don't believe that family service elevates you and allows you to deride others.

I believe that protesting and trying to change what you view as wrong is the embodiment of American Freedom (remember the American Revolution, Civil War, Civil Rights Movement, Anti- War Movement....)

Your denials, derision and threats can't change the facts... the world is changing... for the better.

Glad to hear this is your "last word on this carp"!

Man.... am I confused.... Through all of this I did not even realize we were talking about fish. :-) So is Maryjo saying she kills fish with guns? :-)
    39. welzebub welzebub, 4 years ago
And when she says there is robing... Is she saying she dresses them in a robe before she shoots them..... WOW... and here I thought the conversation was about the BLM movement. :-)
