another Oddity that I've owned for years now. Not even sure where I got it? I imagine it was at a garage sale for very cheap. I have always admired the skill that it took to pull this off. I wish I had about a dozen more of these ...super cool!
    6" wide x 4" tall x about 4" thick

Made in Bali, Indonesia it was skillfully carved from a "wood rose," a mushroom-like parasitic formation created by a mistletoe plant growing on a chinaberry tree

The first picture is after I waxed it with some beeswax. I make sure to treat all my wood products every few months.

Appears to be a root wood carving from Bali, Indonesia.

Good information. I used those parameters to search and only found 1 example. A carved pig that looked similar.

The description said from Bali was skillfully carved from a "wood rose," a mushroom-like parasitic formation created by a mistletoe plant growing on a chinaberry tree

Glad to help. These carvings were quite popular about 10 years ago. They are also widely misidentified as folk art from various places including here in the USA. See link for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melia_azedarach
