Appears to have the letters LAY, when turned its does not appear to be.
The foot is well used,

I’m guessing it’s heavy for it’s size? I’m thinking it’s a student piece, very nice cerulean blue glaze.
The vase is about 4 lbs, so it's not a lightweight vase, I believe it's maybe from the 1940-1950's or even older due to the wear.
