I found several of these while digging in my yard a few years ago. I think they were once pretty common.

How did they get the different colors I wonder?

      Authentica-itsaboutbeingreal.blogspot.com/2012/03/atlanta-antique-porcelain-marbles.html

The fly in this ointment is that Atlanta did not exist until 1847 and there was nothing there before 1836.

That being said, the town where I live was founded in 1822 and I live a few blocks from downtown. There were buildings around where I live not long after though my house was built in 1883.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and looking and loving! I really appreciate all the information provided. I think the general consensus is that they are real marbles and that they are old. I had never seen any until yesterday and for $7.00 I thought why not. Appreciate you all very much,Ralph
