I just purchased this coffee table from a private seller who said it was an "antique Japanese" coffee table. I don't know about "antique", but I would say it is at least vintage. More importantly, I am just trying to identify a maker. The base is a very heavy metal / iron. The finish is somewhat textured and a mottled color. In my opinion, the style has a nod to art nouveau and the simple lines of Japanese aesthetic. Regardless, I love it! I would love to hear from this community if anyone has ideas on the origin/style/etc. Thank you!

I would think around 1980 or 1982 based on when I was looking for a new coffee table and they had them priced from reasonable to kindom come !~

      It is late 20th century.

Two year dating is suspect unless the manufacturer/ specific model # is identified.

No such thing as an antique coffee table-- they have only existed since the mid 20th century (about 1940).

Coffee tables actually I have read began in the 1920's. I remember going to my fave auctions in the late 70's and early 80's and buying coffee tables. none really appealed to me. Some from the 50's were nice but I got my gem from a garage sale, and I was offered lots for it but never sold it.
