i found this small oak cabinet yesterday. i'm going to hang it in my kitchen for spices and s & p. The little cat ruler is 6" high for reference.

I like this tabletop kind of cabinet, in my case I've used these to store collectibles like small ceramics & glass. Nice find!

Ooh now what wouldn't I put in that! Love it- a place for all manners of knick-knacks and the cat ruler is very cool too by the way, that's definitely a little treasure!
I believe you will find your oak cabinet is actually ash wood. Same family and often confused. Ash tends to have a darker more open grain and believe it or not frequently worth more than the same thing in oak.
it's way too heavy to be made from ash - which is light as a feather!
