The only mystery is those that are unable to see what is empirical and objective. Experts too lazy to do their job i suppose. What do you think?

There's gotta be a WHOLE LOT more 'story' here . . . . would you care to share a few more details, etc. about these pictures and where they came from, etc. etc. etc. . . ??
      :-) :-) :-) :-)

      Sorry but I don't see a resemblance.

Is there anything written on the photomatics that give you a date/ name or is this just based on your observations?

She is too matronly and no evidence of a widows peak which Marilyn had. It would only be Marilyn if put out by a scammer !~

Is that supposed to be Gladys Pearl Baker? Facial features are close. It’s not Marilyn Monroe.

Here is the first video i made before winning the auction.

      https://youtu.be/nmC_8NNWq9M

I had won it for 46$ I had put in a top bid of 777$. There were 10 other bidders. It came from a dealer out of washington state. And no i am not going to contact the seller asking for further information that would be crass.

"The only mystery is those that are unable to see what is empirical and objective."

Your only evidence seems to be that you believe it looks like the couple-- what could be more SUBJECTIVE than a "looks like" comparison without any analysis?

Simple analysis proves it isn't who you believe.

As identified above-- no widow's peak on the woman.

The man's hairline isn't close-- Dougherty's hairline was receding.

These photomatics are popular now and usually sell in the $10- $15 range, so you paid retail.

The naysayers need to wake up. A norma jeane resembling norma jeane with a james dougherty resembling james dougherty in a period piece photomatic brand photobooth photo is not going to happen again. Some people throw shade around like its a blessing. Heres a part two. https://youtu.be/MsAP00jJZZs

My third video will be transparency overlays comparing james dougherty.

No resemblence? People need to check out what norma jeane looked like during those years. People say no resemblence need to check their eyesight whats wrong with you,

Here is an image of US Grant to ponder:

We all hate to be scammed. And sometimes when we are we have a tendency to continue to defend something that is indefensible, in our determination to prove that we haven’t been. Many of us have purchased fakes we thought were real. Many of us have our own “Hitler’s Diaries” story. Just laugh it off, Jazzres, and move on. It’s still nice, even though not Marilyn.

Oh Daisy1000 there was no scam. The identification was mine. It was merely advertised as ‘ Lot of 5 - antique photomatic photo booth photo tin type pictures - Metal’

The thing is i still believe very much that this is Norma Jeane and James Dougherty. If you try a transparency overlay you find there are numerous points of exact match on both Norma Jeane and James. Uncanny. When ever i doubt i go back and try another. They match. The photomatic booths were not yet strobed rather they were ‘flooded’. Meaning a deep saturation of light in a pinprick of time. The images used ferrotype chemicals similar to tintypes. I need to research wether the images are flipped as tintypes are. When i identified Norma i saw it in her eyes. With james. His smile is ferociously unique. Like i said earlier. I find it very strange that others dont pick up on the obvious cues. I dont think people research enough upon the look she was projecting and going for during that period. Check out her wedding shots and school yearbook shots and it is a very rigid hyper strict curly hair and makeup face with lipstick precise. It is certainly a precursor to the marilyn look she would perfect a few years later,

Factor in the changes of apperence during teenage years also. Remember how you looked early. Mid. Late teenage years. They were not the same. Here is Norma Jeane attempting to look years beyond her age and i think she does it well. All it takes is the right outfit the right makeup and poise. She was probably doing her best at being wife to james and cooking three meals a day. Lol. They do look like they were having fun. I like andrew jon thomas comment about james. You are not trained in this discipline. Your methodology is ambitious, but preposterous. If you truly want to know the truth here, see the lifetime work of, or contact Dr. Gary Wells, Department of Sociology, Ohio State University; or contact Dr. Elizabeth Loftus, Georgetown Law School.

Jazzres, you showed your item, asked for opinions, and were given them. I don't understand why you seem so averse to any ideas other than those you apparently held from the start?

Jazzres, I'm afraid that I have to concur with those who've opined that this isn't Marilyn Monroe.

My first impression of the woman in the tin framed pictures was that she strongly reminded me of a woman I first knew when I was a teenager -- and when she was already a grandmother.

Moreover, as others have already pointed out, she does not have a widow's peak, and Monroe famously did.

Check out the teeth of Jim Dougherty
Time to get the forensic science out

Theres a curl in front of her widows peak.

Heres another epic video highlighting the synchronicity of the potential discovery.
Thats fine if you all disagree. And at the end of the day it matters not. Too much a little maybe. Sometimes i have to wonder if its me or some conspiracy to keep me down. Holographic universe. Mandela effect. Neurological reality tunnels. Chronic lyme early onset dementia. But for people to say there is no resemblance really ticks me off. How often are you going to find an authentic of the era photobooth shot of someone whose smile and teeth match to james dougherty and someone whose transparency overlays match norma jeane exact over numerous comparisons.

      How often?!?

I think some people are really subhuman and enjoy the dismiss and put down.

Norma Jeane would have been age 15-16 during these shots. I imagine this is when they were thrown together. Norma obviously is dressed up with makeup in order to look much older and mature than her age. If you cant see it then work on your visualization skills, remember yourself as a teenager. Do you look the same?

Try a transparency overlay comparison. They are actually quite fun to perform.

AnythingObscure i am not opposed to other ideas. The comments havent been deleted. Im not worried, artificial intelligence is gaining at such a tempo that it will be able to acertain that this is who i claim it to be. My subjective opinion obviously gets derailed by so called experts that seem more trained into the art of not seeing. Im still 100%. I recently have found out the photos needed to be horizontal flipped to counteract the ferrotype procedure of the photobooth. At first i thought these were tintype just by observing the ghostly fine details extreme gradients and silvery hue.

Anybody with eyes can see that is not Norma Jeane / Marilyn Monroe. It’s laughable someone would even try to pull this off as Norma Jeane and Jimmy. She was a teen with dark hair this woman is easily in her late twenties / thirties. Norma Jeane didn’t lighten her hair till long after she and Jimmy broke up. Heck I look as much like Norma Jean as this woman. Nice try.

Aint tryin to scam anyone. I am into recovering lost artifacts. Since this discovery i have found a treasure trove of doc holliday and wife Kate horoney tintypes, a portrait photo of Bix Beiderbacke, a cdv of the grandfather of the modern computer the inventor of the adding machine. William s Burroughs. Many more. Inquire if you are interested. Jazzresin@gmail.com.
