This small trench art plane measures 3" long with a 4" wingspan.
It depicts the famous British Sopwith Triplane. Many folks think exclusively of Germany and the Red Baron when they see a triplane, but the Sopwith had an outstanding reputation and preceded the German triplane. The Fokker Dr.I was Germany's answer to the Sopwith.
The Sopwith Triplane had a production run of only 140 planes but from its introduction in 1916 until late 1917 is was the supreme fighter in WW1.
