Hello, I have a ring and I cannot find any hallmark that looks like this. Does anyone know what maker this may be? The gold does test 18K but I've not seen a karat mark like this either. I've seen some similar style rings with the ruby and seed pearls that says Victorian era online. I did have a jeweler look at it and they said the ruby was fake. So it might not even be that old. Would love to find out more history on it though.

It is an English design registration mark.

A bit complicated but if you look at the lozenge carefully then you will be able to find out who and when this design was registered in the nineteenth century.

The design was registered in 1880 (letter J on the right).
      W stands for March.
Meaning, the design was registered March 1880 but it does not mean the ring was made in 1880, could be years later, but not after 1883 when the system was discontinuued.
