This small Chinese stamped box (see photo) is very special. But I have some questions that one of you might be able to answer:
    1. Does anyone have any idea what quality mark this is?
    2. Does anyone know what fruit this could be?
    3. what the box could have been used for? It could have been a timble box, but are they also used in China?
You see I have quite a few questions about this box. But it was so special and beautiful that I just added it to my collection.
Measure: 2.76 x 2.36 inches/ 7 x 6 cm. Indeed there is a notch missing but it is easy to repair. However, this was no reason for me not to add this special box to my collection.
Would love to hear your comments!

I believe you have a lychee fruit.
The lychee tree has long pointed leaves such as that.
The nubby-textured outer skin peels off to expose the smooth delicious fruit.

Now you are reminding me to keep looking for lychees (canned) in the grocery stores…they are rarely found where I live.
I used to enjoy fresh ones when I lived in Hawaii…so you have stirred a nice memory for me.

Seems to be missing a piece..there's a notch like it maybe had a knob to open it..

Please would you tell us the dimensions. The photo, I think, has been enlarged?

I believe it's entirely possible for thimble boxes to be used in China, especially silver ones. I don't know if this one is for a thimble or opium, or a trinket.
