I found this small teapot today at a thrift store here in Oakland, CA. It's only 5.25 inches across and appears to have some age, but i'm not sure. I like the gourd handle on the cover and the gourd design on the body. Any info appreciated.

Made by Oitomi, missing its stainless steel mesh strainer. Modern, post 2000. Still being made to order, available on Oitomi's website or via Amazon. The design is Hisago (gourd). I posted one of these on CW. Very high quality little pots.

Actually a few design differences from mine so maybe older. A tetsu kyusu, not a tetsubin. Too small for a kettle.

Either not lined inside or lined with polymerized oil. No sign of being used over direct heat so not been used as a kettle which is good. Oitomi is the only foundry I know of who does not (sometimes) mark their pots.

Is the interior smooth or rough?

One of these on Etsy with strainer.

Weakening a bit on my ID of Oitomi as foundry. Will look at in morning. Just got up to visit the head and still half asleep!

Made by Ikenaga.. Their version of hisago kyusu. I forgot that I have a couple of unmarked Ikenaga pots... Still being made:?
