This 2 1-2" snowflake design brooch has yellow & topaz rhinestones of various shapes, in a gold wash (vermeil) setting. By Jay Flex with sterling button mark on back, ca the 1960s

At first sight i thought it was a Sherman brooch. It is absolutely gorgeous!

Scott thank you so much for your marvelous compliment, when I saw this brooch I thought yes, this is undoubtedly a snowflake - so many other pieces are sort of floral/snowflake type but I thought this one was perfect, and glad you liked it too
Phil thank you for your fabulous praise and great observ - I agree that Jay Flex was sort of a rudimentary Sherman, but of course the Sherman line is par excellence. You will be glad to hear I am hoping to get another Sherman by April (husband is thankfully sharing a small tax refund with me this Spring lol) and soon I'll be searching for a nice one
