USMC Bolo Machete WW2 Chatillon N.Y.

There seem to be a myth going around that these were used by the Marine Medic Corp but I will now bust this. The Marines did not have medics. They had US Navy Corpsmen. If it were for the Corpsmen it would have USN on it not USMC.
Moving on you can get an idea of the size based on the handle but I will add the blade is 11 1/2" long and it is a very heavy blade. Which reminds supposedly the corpsmen were using these to make buildings like Gilligan's Island. As the USMC in WWII was fighting in jungles these were being used by everyone.
Note this is the original sheath. It is leather reinforced with steel.
