Hello everyone!!
Another set of antique andirons I have in my collection is this rare 19th century set of brass dolphin andirons with torch finials.
These were made in France in the mid-late 1800’s. The intricate detail of this set of andirons is wonderful. Though these are most always referred to as dolphins, they’re more reminiscent of Koi fish to me.
They were heavily tarnished and stained, but I was able to clean them with a mixture of lemon juice and brass polish. They each measure 23 1/2” tall, 10” wide and 30 1/2” long, with shanks attached.
Thanks very much for taking the time to stop in for a look!!
Scott
