Having had the green vase for many years, without knowing its origins, I couldn't resist buying the small mauve one. However, whilst they are clearly from the same design, they are not identical. Not a puzzle I can solve.
Height 20.5 cm./8 inches.

have you tried putting it under fluorescent light? looks like it could be neodymium glass and will change colour :)
Gorgeous color
Stunning !!!
BHIFOS, you are right it became blue. I have an old anglepoise lamp which I fitted with a bulb which reveals uv? content by turning the glass a vivid green. I didn't know it would work on neodymium glass.
Truth to tell technology is not my thing.
Selena123, Thank you it is always a pleasure to have a piece receive such a compliment.
Two gorgeous pieces of glass! Although, i favor the lavender purple best!
the cool thing about it is instead of forcing the colour change with other lights if you just leave it on a windowsill or somewhere it will be in full sunlight as the light changes with cloud etc during the day the glass does subtlety change colour :)
DejaVu2 I agree with you on colour that the mauve has it. However on workmanship the green is altogether better made. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were made by different companies. There is at least one instance of closure where the designs were used by the buyer and familiar shapes appeared with a totally different surface texture.
BHIFOS Thanks I'm going to explore that.
sure the glass is Alexandrite... the color changes with natural and artificial light
neodymium/Alexandrite same thing.
