Here is a cute & quirky little vase I picked up cheaply in a local shop today.
It is a curious piece of glass that I haven’t seen anything exactly like before. I have another item with a white over blue crackle type decor, but this one is different again. I feel like calling it ‘leopard print” crackle, because even if the colour isn’t right, the pattern does resemble it!
The vase measures 6 cm tall, 5.5 cm across the cut top rim, & 5.5 cm across the applied footed base.
It is made from cobalt blue glass with an unusual crackle + spatter/frit decor that is very tactile. There is also a satin finish to add to the interesting texture. The vase has been formed in a vertically ribbed mould, & features an applied footed base in clear glass. There is a rough pontil mark on the base.
Possibly Bohemian origin, circa late 19th century.
Last photo shows it with an Autumn Crocus. I planted these 4 years ago & have finally had some flowers to enjoy!

Love The Color!
Many thanks, ALLEGRO!
