I’m a chronic op shopper, & because I live in an area where there’s an abundance of them, I’m out searching most days.
Here’s a selection of interesting old things that I’ve found that are not art glass, my main collecting area.
1. Today, I found this extremely cool drinking glass, a commemorative item that celebrates the end of WW2. The design of this snappily dressed pair “cutting a rug” really caught my eye. Marked A.C.I Staff Club Victory Revel 15/8/1945 - 21/9/1945. Likely manufactured by Crown Crystal, which was a division of Australian Consolidated Industries.
2. A few weeks ago, this eccentric example of Victoriana was a must have. It is made from porcelain, depicting a rustic woven fence. Typical of similar ornaments found in ceramic & glass that imitated logs, branches, bamboo, & the like. It measures 11 cm tall, & 16.5 wide.
Could be European manufacture.
3. A couple months back, this insulator turned up. I don’t collect these, but this one was cool enough for me to make mine. Marked AGEE, circa 1930s. When I looked it up, it’s actually quite valuable. I just enjoyed the purple.
4. Depression glass is not really my thing either, but this little item was interesting & quirky enough to make the grade for me. Lovely shade of “ice blue”, & a very Art Deco geometrical form (looks like a crystal). Measures 4.5 cm. I think it’s probably a toothpick or maybe match holder.

That candle holder is a beautiful item. It looks modern, but appearances are deceiving.

I feel that the fence is a triple bud vase, the openings taper inwards quite a bit, to put candles in you’d need either extremely thin ones or to shave them down to fit.
Thanks for that, mp.kunst, however as I mentioned above, I don’t feel that this item is a candle holder. It would not function very well in that role.
It does have some quite detailed markings underneath, which I will add to this post in the near future, numbers that are both written & moulded.
I have two other porcelain multi - trunk bud vases, which resemble bamboo. One marked, the other unmarked. The marked one I found to be German.
With regard to the link you posted, as I cannot read Czech (?) I can’t tell what it says, if this similar style item is old or new. I definitely feel that mine is old, there is considerable wear (one of the vases is chipped) & ingrained dirt consistent with great age.

Exceptional antique decorative basket of white porcelain with intertwined walls and columnar corner vases.
A beautiful and imaginatively designed, functional and decorative object from the first third of the 20th century. The square basket has a slightly raised base, which can also serve as a dish for a flowerpot. The basket stands on finely grooved, hollow columns that function as small vases for a small flower. The white, flat tendrils on the basket likely resemble split reeds, and the corner vases hollow bamboo. This beautiful piece of woven porcelain can serve as a small table planter or as a decorative cover for a small round or square flowerpot. The manufacturer's underglaze mark is applied to the bottom.

The markings on mine are as follows - 43 (above a line) then 4947/49 (under the line)
