Hello, been a while.
I recently aquired a vase I had only seen once in 30 years of collecting. It was for sale at antique show in Burbank CA with a few other Loetz tango specimens. With limited resources I chose a Hoffmann Tango (turns out it wasnt Hoffmann) instead of this Franz Welz fan vase. This is a scalloped fan vase in a rare decor of red, and gold satin iridescent. I bought this in Florida and the likely scenario is collector retired and needed to clean out some glass because his kids don't appreciate any of his old junk, in any case I was happy to see it again.
It measures 7 1/2" and belongs to a range of shapes with about 33 decorations including all the notable decors Welz made in the late 1920's, enjoy your glass (cuz the kids don't care)
This is a fantastic piece, glad it came around again for you. It’s funny how we can remember things we missed out on. I passed up on a couple things thirty years ago & still think of them. Maybe they’ll turn up one day for me like this one did for you.
