Found this the other day, so I thought I would try to get some opinions. The piece is signed: Pewabic Detroit. More about the pottery here:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pewabic_Pottery

Does anyone have any experience with pieces from this pottery? If so, I am looking to try to find when the piece was made. I understand this mark was used from 1910-1991. It is a handsome piece of pottery but the chip kills it. If it is worthwhile I would consider having some restoration work done on the chip. I paid next to nothing so it may be worth it. Thanks for looking.

It's a very nice piece. I know the chip is there but like you said, you need a more specific time frame. I wish I could help with that. The thing is that if there are only a few around, one with a little ding like that could still be worth it and more...It's almost a horrible name though I have to say! haha When I first saw it I thought for sure it was Scheurich or maybe even Jasba. How large is it?

Pewabic is notoriously difficult to date accurately. This mark was used in the 1950s but I don't know if it has been revived in any of the post-1971 work. Pewabic vases are always good and this is probably worthy of professional restoration.
