Since many years I own this small Loetz vase of H=8.3 D=8.9x7.6 cm and I wasn't able to identify its décor up to now. An almost matching decor is shown in 'Loetz Boehmisches Glas 1880-1940' Vol.I on page 158 fig.155. The authors, Jan Mergl et.al., describe the décor as being twofold diagonally spun with silver-yellow glass threads and irregularly combed over yellow glass with an opal - here highly iridized - inner case. Other pieces of this décor are unknown. It was probably made in 1902, but sadly enough, many Loetz 'Musterschnitte' (design sheets) of this year were lost. Though the décor is unknown, nevertheless the unique 'Loetz Austria' signature at the polished pontil assignes this vase undoubtedly.
What an amazing piece - it almost looks like molten ripples.
