This is an RPPC from 1908, the man holding the book & the woman next to him are my Grandfather's Uncle & Aunt. This picture was taken in 1908, in Sittingbourne, Kent, England, this is a Hop picking crew. The way that the man on the left is dressed, I would assume that he is the land owner, or the farm manager.

The second photo I can't date as the corner is missing, & it was never posted, on the back is written "With kind love to all from Mrs Mudge"

Kent is known as the garden of England

I love the photos, I will have to show them to my Mother, she has always wanted to go to England, but feels that at the age of 85 she will have to be content with pictures of her Fathers homeland.
I wondered if they still grew hops in Kent.

    Did you read comment 10?

I've been waiting five days to see if anyone noticed but I guess they were to well camouflaged :)
They call that photo bombing now, I don't know what they called it in 1908.

I don't know what cob nuts are, but the plants are to small for hops.

High scandinavian_pieces, Just found this post, browsing through your collection; wonderful pieces of our history. It's a small world, I spend two weeks every year painting commissions at Paddock Wood (War & Peace Show), thats only a short 40 mile hop (joke) from where you are! :) (Love your pictures you left at comment .12)
