Here are some more of my metal detector finds. Nothing spectacular here, about a 50/50 mix of Wheat and Memorial Pennies, with several Buffalo Nickels thrown in.
The other item, is, I believe, a pole tag. As you can see, it is from Texas, and dated 1944. If anybody knows, please let us know.

very COOL I MIGHT SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you stick to one of the name brands, you cannot go wrong, even in their entry level series of machines. I would not buy one from Radio Shack, Sam's, etc. All the coins you see here were found with my Tesoro Cortes. I have had White's, Bounty Hunter, Garrett and several others over the years and like my Tesoro best, it is a killer coin finder. I have included a link of which all listed are top notch machines. The most expensive is not always the best. There are detectors that cost three times what my Tesoro cost.

bratjdd,
Thank you very much for the kind words. How much time do I spend metal detecting? Well, that depends. I live in Central Texas, our summers are brutal, the sun here has no mercy here, I will not detect until next Oct. when it cools off. Usually when we go out, we spend the better part of a day. Sometimes we spend the night there and start again in the morning, depending on where we are. I spend the summers doing research on places and talking to people, getting ready.
You will enjoy it.
Thank you very much miKKoChristmas11 , tubber & bratjdd
Thanks packrat-place for responding, you are right about the weather when is hot no one wants to go out. I appreciate the information you given me. When I do purchase one I would Love to go to Yosemite or Lake Shasta or like you said talk to people and listening to there stories and asking questions. Thanks.
bratjdd,
That is no problem. I have been metal detecting for 41 years, and have learned a lot in that time. My email address is in my bio, if I can ever be of any help, good detector websites, detector advice, brands, etc., just let me know, I will be glad to help.
