    MORGANTOWN MOONSCAPE

So somehow this ended up in my purchases last Saturday, my partner thought it was a pretty. No markings and a day and a half looking for something similar. It looks modem. I really need to watch what ends up in my stack at estate sales. So, it's clear outside, and frosted inside. The vase is about 4" tall with a 1/2" sloped opening.

I would like to know if anyone has ever come across this.

    Scandinavian art glass?

    Thank you.

This is a piece by Morgantown, a US company. The line is referred to as Moonscape. It is not very common, and really pretty infrequently seen. Difficult to find references for it. I have a piece like this one, and also a large example which uses this as a base (inverted) and has a large thin walled amethyst glass vase attached to it. 50's - 60's if I remember the timeline correctly. Great find. I love these pieces.

Some say these pieces are actually paperweights..... what ever they are, they are really super cool......

Thanks for the info. There is another one of these in the basement of this house. Thinking about making this a pair. I was luck to be invited into the house before the public. I was able to pick some nice glass, tho there wasn't any real discount. I'll be able to ask for a discount when I go back when the public gets to go in. This house had over 3000 items in the basement alone.
      Again, thanks Jerry

I would snag it if you can. They are not worth a ton of money, but they are really cool looking, and extremely hard to find.
