I have an antique pedal car from 1950. It is an old Nelle Belle Jeep. Everything is there except I believe one tire is missing the rubber. It was a barn find in an acreage that was being demolished. I think this would be great restored but does it decrease value?

Restore this one! This would look fantastic redone to look like new!

If it had the original paint on it I would not restore it. But this one is just begging to be restored!

Would anybody know any kind of value restored or left alone?

Yeah, restore it!! Wasn't Nelle Belle the name of the jeep of Roy Roger's sidekick?

I'm thinking that this is a 'cock-up', the panels on the sides appear to have been added later and poorly welded in place, it would never have come from the factory that way......I think some one made this up from a jeep pedal car for thier child but it's not a original "Nelly-Belle"............... That's just my take without really seeing it..
I don't want to be a downer but I'm sure you'd want to know.....

It is the original Nelle Belle Pedal Car it has the markings on the bottom as it should have but Thank You for your help. I doubt we will know what we are doing trying to restore it. I will probably sell it to a dealer as soon as I can find a rough idea of the value as is.

Got any salt? After I posted I went and looked at YardSaleDaves link, I'm totally wrong but I do think this has had some MAJOR repair work poorly done. and there are some other items missing.................look at the auction pic again and see if don't agree with me. Restored this would be a Very Nice toy ! Not the first time I've had words for breakfast :-)

I have done the same:) The man that lived on the farm I retrieved this from said the only thing they did was weld the closures so that the kids wouldn't get hurt on something popping open. I believe these would be easily removed but again I have no clue what I am doing. Maybe a good 4H project for my daughter.

Hi, go to yahoo and type in CJ3B in the search box. They've got pictures of the original NellyBelle pedal car! It's pretty cool plus they have info on the jeep. Hope this helps and it'll be fun to look at them and read about them too.
