My Mum just gave me this brooch. it has a glass central cabouchon made to look like a piece of turquoise, and the flowers and leaves are either painted or a very thin layer of enamel (I don't know enough about this stuff!). The metal is very light in weight and pretty cheap feeling. My guess because of the glass is that it is probably Czech, but happy to be told otherwise!
It's not particularly old or valuable but I thought it was pretty :)

My mum did tell me about it but now I cant remember if she said it was hers or her mothers! If it was my mum's, it's likely to be 50s or 60s, if it belonged to my grandma it could be older. I'll need to ask her again :)

It's a bit different than other czech brooches I have seen with those lovely forgetmenotslike flowers of enamel. Very nice and I also think czech.

Beautiful piece! To me it looks like an Brothers Neiger piece, you should look for similar items at pinterest to compare. If it is one, its 20s to 30s

Thanks bunad, I do think it has some similarities to some Neiger brothers brooches. I've found a few with similar turquoise glass and a couple with some enamelling. Probably not possible to prove but it's nice to think it might be!

at least it's art deco era from Czechoslovakia, it's not possible to proof whether it's Neiger brothers or not, enjoy your lovely piece :-) I love this Forget-me-not like enamel so much...
