My find today. I saw this in a Salvation Army auction preview and really liked it. I don't go to the auctions so promptly forgot about it. I stopped in today and it was sitting on a shelf priced at $12.99. I thought it was waiting for me. The person bid on it and never returned to pick it up. I think it is Japanese but cannot read it so not 100 % sure.

Odd to find a Christian characterization,on a Japanese Religious Icon, with a Japanese Jesus. Maybe it would depend on the age of this lovely item. When did Japan have Christianized converts ( and what did Buddist devotees think of that culture shock?? )
Yes I found it strange too. I was told this is most likely Chinese. I was told the hair of the baby is Chinese not Japanese in style. Thanks for responding PostCardCollector.
