This looks like the typical advertising thermometer but it is half the size and says "Sample No.220" just under the address. It is just under 7" long. Not sure if the Ryan Funeral Home was real or not. This was before there were 555 numbers for fictional phone numbers. I tried to match up the phone number with the name of the business and phone number but had no matches.
I am thinking it is half size to fit in the carrying case of a travelling salesman. He would have a suitcase full of samples and travelled in a bus.
Perhaps putting the Fun in Funerals would have been a good slogan. Well I have to come up with something to wrap up the post.

Sorry Fort, but the "Putting the Fun in Funerals" slogan has already been taken... ;-) <lol>

I remember when lots of businesses gave away outdoor thermometers, wall mounted bottle openers and some fairly decent calendars, among other items. That seems to no longer exist in today's world.

Thank you very much AnythingObscure. The slogan would have been good enough for McMan and Tate after a three cocktail lunch.

Thank you very much Scott. I got a free t-shirt when I bought my car along with a bunch of tote bags. But nothing high quality like those thermometers.
