This is a pair of Alexandrite figures of "Campesinos," a Spanish term that peaked in the 1960's meaning, "peasant farmer." They have flat, highly polished, unsigned bases. I purchased them in an auction a couple of years ago, knowing nothing about them, other than that I liked them. When news of Pino Signoretto's death reached my glass groups on Facebook, I learned about his work. I did a search, looking for a piece like mine, and found Rick55's post. I'm wondering if these are genuine, and how I could tell. Thanks for any information - I hope you enjoy them! https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/202193-pino-signoretto-murano-hot-sculpted-glas

Hey Jen... To answer your question, yes mine is signed (as he did with practically all of his work) under the foot. Frankly, I've never seen an unsigned piece by him, but you never know anything's possible, but I doubt it. Now, I have seen very similar sculptures - Dino Rosin and Livio Seguso come to mind, but again like Signoretto, their pieces are typically signed. Regardless, these are two outstanding pieces! - Rick

I can send you a few pics if you'd like, my email address is in my profile. Just shoot me off a message, and I'll send you some.

Here is the auction record for the piece....

Hi Rick, thank you for the information. I think they are very similar, but looking closely, the face on yours is much better. I'm trying to thin the herd a bit here, and now they will be a bit easier to part with. All the best... Jen
