I am not quite sure what this is but it looks to be a multi-stage insect of insect of some sort. My guess is it is a Cicada with a locust in the upper left corner. I am not sure about the moth in the center.
I will guess the two on the upper right are a male and female. To the left of them is an egg sack. On the bottom right is a pupae. I dig those things up when gardening now and then. I think a few insects have that form of development. We do get big insects like these up here. Insect season only about 5 months here but there is four times the precipitation as the rest of Southern California so we get bonus bugs.
This is not the prettiest display but it is interesting. Probably done as school or hobby project.
