I have one and thought I had it posted, but it must have been deleted by me some time ago. I can re-post it.
My instruction sheet, Assembly Instructions on one side and How to Play on the other side state, 2003 Front Porch Classics, Inc.
Appears yours is missing the spring-loaded plunger that is the pitch trajectory to launch the small steel ball (2 steel balls come with the game). The lever on the right side controls the bat. With practice, the home runs are quite frequent.
I will repost it so you can see the instructions & complete game. I have been away from posting here for some time, but checked in today and saw your post.
