This little 8" x 10" sign is made of relatively thin (heat?) formed somewhat flexible white plastic, with black and red coloring added to is raised lettering. (totally blank white on its backside)

WARECO was a small local [to west-central IL, Galesburg specifically] group of gas stations, active thereabouts in the late 1970's at least. AFAIK they didn't have an affiliation with any specific 'brand' of fuel -- nonetheless they usually featured the lowest *price/gal* even back then, when the average price per-gal was still well under $1... <GROAN> That was a sorta really important detail to me at the time as a new driver with my first actual car. (which itself came along with the biggest V-8 engine Ford Motor Company ever installed in a passenger vehicle...OH that thing could suck gas...)

But nevermind that, the sign itself joined my collections also back then, during a random stop at one of their pumps to keep 'the beast' still running. The station's owners had made these signs to be put behind the glass on the pumps beside the (mechanical) displays of their various operation...apparently some station employee had had the front of the pump I pulled up to opened-up shortly before I got there, the plastic sign fell out, and he didn't notice -- leaving it laying there on the ground for me to pick up...I've had it ever since...

A perfectly valid question buckethead...suffice it to say they all seemed different enough (light reflectivity, color rendition, whatever) at posting time, though maybe not so much in actuality. Pics now edited to show one 'with flash', one 'without', and a new one of its back. :-)

      THANKS ALSO to fortapache, blunderbuss2, mikelv85, purvis, yougottahavestuff, gargoylecollector, & Brunswick for stopping by and leaving your <love it>s!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
