Thought this old model would fit in the background for my GI Joe Action Pilots. The original figures were based on the Korean War and this is a Korean War era plane. I have the straight wing version around here someplace, that one is the D model. It was more of a ground attack aircraft than a fighter as it was on the obsolete side even with the swept wings.
Got this built up. Looks like an easy build with no need for paint although paint would help. But this was something a kid could do without help from a parent. I think this kit is is from the 1960s/1960s. I haven't found a match yet.
The best part of this model is lots of rockets under the wings. Kids want to see a lot of ordinance, guns and so on.

Nice old kit. It looks like an Aurora or Comet(Aurora bought some of their molds at first), but I can't verify it because the decal #'s don't match up with any pics I've found. It still reminds me of early Aurora kits. I've got a question that might help me find the manufacturer, do the rockets look like they came with the kit or could they have been added from another kit? The configuration of the rockets is kind of strange looking. The old kits I've looked at don't have any ordinance. I'll keep looking. I love the minimalist look of the early kits like this.

Looks like a Hawk kit. Here's a pic with the box, it's got the FS 430#: https://images.app.goo.gl/cGJwNAewsiBor8Q87

It's late '50s or early '60s. Without the box it's impossible to narrow it down, the very simple construction(the one piece wings etc.) must make this a early Hawk release, I wonder if they subbed out the manufacturing to Aurora, I've seen some early Hawk kits, in fact the first Hawk plastic kit, this is a completely different kit than any other I've seen by Hawk, it's interesting.

Thank you ever so much Toyrebel. You did a great job of researching this. I was thinking this was an F-86 until just before I posted it and recalled there were swept wing F-84s. I am going to look out for the Hawk box for this. I really like the artwork on it. They probably got the ordinance right as this was a ground support plane.
