You sees these in Antique Mall all the time but this one has the hat! This is the Emmett Kelly Willie the Clown Character. It was Made by Baby Barry Toy of NYC. He is 20" tall with a well detailed rubber face. The rubber face dolls were popular in the 1950s such as the Rushton Santa dolls. Hmmm I didn't get a good side view of the nose.
Yes clown are scary but so are ventriloquist dolls so I have him sitting with Mortimer Snerd and a couple dog friends.
Anyone (such as keramikos) want to look up the Baby Barry Toy company? I couldn't find anything.

I like them all and haven’t heard the name Mortimer Snerd in decades. Haha. I don’t think clowns are particularly scary. I happen to like clowns. Wish I’d kept my little collection of them. Que sera sera. Great condition, fortapache, and thanks for sharing!

I had an Emmet Kelly big Golden Book(?) in the '50s. He was THE Clown, he had status like Captsin Kangaroo or Roy Rogers.
