I have recently acquired this Ansonia clock. I don't know much about the history and have been trying to find the model name and thereby the age. Can any knowledgeable collector assist?

FYI It has a pendulum that I removed so it wouldn't be damaged from swinging.

I almost missed your clock in my search because it is missing a piece of its top.
The model is called the "Kenmore" and it is from circa 1901. Your clock could have been manufactured several years before or after that year. It was part of Ansonia's "K" Assortment and was made from Oak or "Dark" Wood. They original retailed for about $5 or so in 1901. That would have been roughly the equivalent of $150 in 2020. If you do a search for "Ansonia Kenmore Clock" you'll find some other examples as well. It must have been a popular model.

Thanks for sharing. Even with the missing piece, it's a nice looking clock. If you clean up the wood with a little Murphy's Oil Soap and apply a little Lemon Oil and Bee's Wax, it should bring back some of the original beauty of the finish while retaining the clock's originality.

I forgot to mention, your clock's glass tablet still has the original stenciling decoration. That's often lost through the years so that's a big plus.
Antique clocks have gone through a lot before we join their family of owners. You just have to appreciate each survivor for what it is and what it represents.

Thank you so much Bruce. I don't know anything about these types of clocks so I guess I need to find a local clock shop in Houston Texas and get this restored.
