I've never seen anything quite like this piece. It's heavier than it looks and there is a lot of wear to her body from being handled alot. She's really quite beautiful. The bottom is a smooth round sphere/ball she is standing on. Any info appreciated!

So it has nothing to do with the green vase beneath ?.?

    3. ho2cultcha ho2cultcha, 5 years ago
no. i had to figure out how to hold it up so i put it in one of my favorite vases.

Is this part of a trophy?
Reminds me of the Goddess of victory trophys but I have never spotted one with the arms in that position. She deserves her own special stand to display her. I love her!!!! Tell her to spread her wings and fly my way.

This is breathtaking. Hope she is displayed somewhere that shows her beauty!

The wings look similar to a Leung hood ornament:

It also looks like it could have been on one end of a representation of the Arc of the Covenant.

Thank you Melaniej, Bellisima, and Kevin. I've uploaded some better photos so you can see it more clearly. After comparing it w/ some other bronzes i have, this is definitely a bronze. It's remarkably similar to the hood ornament for the Lejeune, as Kevin states. I wonder if it was an earlier model? There's no evidence that the ball on which she stands was ever attached to anything else.

Just wondering if I am right in thinking that it a figure of a female angel. That in itself is a bit unusual.
    13. ho2cultcha ho2cultcha, 5 years ago
yes, it is a female angel. i didn't realize that was unusual. I believe it's a page turner, rather than a letter opener.
