Shawnee Pottery Hand Vase
Approximately 4 1/2" x 9 3/4"
The vase is marked USA on the bottom. I remember seeing a similar vase listed here recently. I was thinking it was possibly Shawnee Pottery?
After searching to see who posted similar ones here..I realized that Ironlace has about every one that was made. So hopefully he can shed some light on my piece and put a name to it.
After more research, the marks are consistent with Shawnee Pottery.
How did I miss this? My apologies!
Anyway, I think this vase could be by McCoy. US pottery is not an area I know much about as we just don't see any examples in Australia. But I've been seeing the McCoy ones in online auctions for years whenever I was searching for hand vases. I mostly concentrate on glass ones & only have a few pottery/porcelain examples.
McCoyy made a couple of different hand vases in different shapes, in the 1950s era I think.
