    Alma Dato-Montero Potier
    BIRTH 23 Feb 1909
Genoa, Città Metropolitana di Genova, Liguria, Italy
    DEATH 25 Sep 2003 (aged 94)
    Amora, Seixal Municipality, Setúbal, Portugal
    BURIAL
    Cemitério da Guia
    Cascais, Cascais Municipality, Lisboa, Portugal

Daughter of Francisco Dato-Tessitore and Raquel Montero de Dato. Wife of Augusto Rato Potier. Beloved mother of Regina Potier Esteves and Gloria Potier Harrison. Distinguished watercolor miniaturist.

Comments by daughter Gloris Potier Harrison (Thank you!):

The portrait of the lady said to be Alma is NOT her. My mother was much prettier than that. These were a series of paintings she did for friends or members of the consular service in the then known as Belgian Congo. My father was stationed there as Portuguese Consul.

I take back what I said in previous comment. If it painted in Brussels, the ladies might have been models or friends of her aunt with whom she was staying while studying at the Academie des Beaux Arts

How do I post some lovely miniatures painted by my mother Alma after she became really proficient? Is there a form to fill out? There are also two miniatures I want to sell. Thank you for any information you may provide

Alma was a real lady of 17 when this painting was painted.

She was once painted by the Belgian painter Omer van de Weyer. This painting was in her husband's personal collection. You can see this painting here:

      mp.kunst,
Thank you for all of the research! I had seen the husband's collection but knew nothing about Omer van de Weyer!

      ansora,
I am seeing these comments for the first time. I do not seem to get notifications whenever someone posts anymore (?). Thank you for the comments.
