P-38 Let me start off by saying the P38 Lightning is my favorite WWII plane. It looks neat and was rather effective. This version is set up for ground attack 4 hard points for rockets and carrying 2 bombs.
The first photo is the business end with 4 .50 machine guns and 20mm cannon. The concentration of fire power there would saw the wings off bombers.
Next the underside. The landing gear raises and lowers and the landing gear doors open and shut.
Next next is the cockpit. Note the real version it very large for plane with a single crewman. Close to the size of a medium bomber.
Wrapping it up with a rear view of the mid section.
Got lots of fun stuff coming up.
Wow! Everything from the cockpit on is extremely detailed on this plane! Very cool!
It is a neat plane. What was the fuel capacity for the P-38 ?
