Civil War occupation soldier, photographed in Charleston, SC.

Soldier is a Union Sergeant in a frock coat. Subtle tinting to stripes, trousers and buttons. Also some face blush and fine eye color tint.

Photographed by H.C. Foster, who was documented at 216 King St. in 1865. US revenue stamp confirms the dating.
