I have a few of these bowls and found these three today. I think at least one of these is quite a bit older than my others. Without looking them up, i think that the designs are prayers - probably written by non-literate potters at provincial kilns. Two of these appear to have Ming type grit on their bases. I think that the very blue one is most similar to other Ming pieces i have, but i'm really not certain. I'm sure that Apostata has a more educated opinion.

mnemonic, sanskrit (lanka) longevity versus double hapiness

not skilled enough but let,s try

looking them up, i think that the designs are prayers + question 1
actually this is a sanskrit question or the lanca part of it versus regular chinese script

most sanskrit prayers are commiited to mantras, and the power of mantra is repitition , most of the time they are OHM (OM) mantra

left photo there is a symbol 4 squares stacked and partlynext to eacher squares,
you may thinkit,s the stylized chinese for the sanskrit (script) for longevity , but it is is not , it are DOUBLE HAPPINESS SYMBOLS

some people think these are Yuan style (1300), due to the cream and blackened
      design

IMO they don,t appear before late MIng or even transitional around 1630 , so they ""cheated 300 years if they want to represent

THE short foot is ok the overglaze is ok , but what i miss is the density of the glazing, and the few kilnpitting and ruptures

To be honest i tend more to 19 century minyao pieces they are quite primitive, but i make a lot of mistakes in this type of ware,

des pudels is , is it yuan ware , well it certainly ai,nt not , and don,t let the kilngrit fool you , there is even kilngritt late 19 century , but the granula is probably different and the allocatie ( the spreading of granula) see f,I WAnli period)

Thank you apostata - if that is chaos, i'm okay with it. i can tell you are reaching for these bits of knowledge you have packed away and i'm very grateful that you are willing to share that. There is a wonderful Japanese Zen sutra/prayer - Kanzeon which is the Japanese version of Sanskrit words - so the Japanese pronunciation of these Sanskrit words. It's my favorite chant and describes the Diamond Heart Sutra [i think]. it's been awhile...
